In 2002 Dr. Klaahsen moved to Massachusetts to continue her education at the New England College of Optometry in Boston. In June of 2006 she received her doctorate of optometry. After graduation Dr. Klaahsen joined a private practice near Boston where she perfected her examining skills. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the Contact Lens division of the American Optometric Association.
While in Optometry school Dr. Klaahsen headed a project that investigated the occurrence of contact lens sharing among teenagers. She was able to present this work as a second year optometry student at the 2003 American Academy of Optometrist's annual meeting. She recieved a Vistakon travel grant and the Acuvue Eye health Advisor Citizenship Award for her work on this project.
Dr. Klaahsen is familiar with our patient base as she worked for General Optical as an optical technician while she was in school. Her mission is to deliver outstanding family eye care, by offering the latest in products and technology, through a compassionate understanding of each patient.
